The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Genre: Fantasy / Comedy / Action

Well it sure is different from Mickey.

Merlin the wizard has three apprentices.
When one of them, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina), betrays Merlin by aiding Morgana le Fay (Alice Krige) it is up to the remaining 2 apprentices Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) and Veronica (Monica Bellucci) to stop them.
But all of them are imprisoned in a magial prison for centuries and it is up to Balthazar Blake to find the young wizard known as Prime Merlinian who will be Merlin's successor and vanquish evil for good.

Fast forward to the future and Blake stumbles upon Dave (Jay Baruchel) a loser kid who loves Physics.
But it turns out that this geeky kid may just be the Prime Merlinian.
This of course means that Horvath needs him to free Morgana as well and enlists the help of 'modern' wizard Drake Stone (Toby Kebbell).

So will Blake be able to train Dave in time?
Or will Dave let his love for the young Becky Barnes (Teresa Palmer) get in the way of his destiny?

Well I'll tell you what people.
You remember the old cartoon 'Fantasia' with Mickey Mouse?
With the dancing broomsticks and all that?
Well this is the supposed to be the same thing. But more current.

Well not EXACTLY the same but based on it anyways.
And to be honest this movie is more for kids or teens I guess.
Some nice special effects. A little action and comedy.
Nicholas Cage's hair is okay but he's started to wear stupid hats instead.

Well bring the kids if you want it might be good for them.
PS yes they still have the broomstick sequence.

Final Verdict:
