"Fucking prawns."

It has been more than 2 decades since an alien mothership descended upon Johannesburg and a lot has changes since then.
The aliens were not hostile but seemed to be more lost than anything else since their ship seemed to have malfunction after losing some parts.
A private firm known as MNU took it upon themselves to take charge to sort everything out before the chaos got out of control.

So special camps were st-up for the aliens to separate them from the humans. And now the time has come to move them even further away from the humans.

Wikus Van De Merwe (Sharlto Copley) has been given the task of supervising the major operation of moving the aliens or 'prawns' as they are referred to by humans (because of their appearnce).
But after getting more and more involved in both the human and alien matters, Wikus realizes that there might be more going on than people understand.
Why is MNU trying to harness the alien technology?
Should he trust a seemingly good alien? Or should he feel bolstered by the support of the mercenary forces led by Kobus Venter (David James)?

Well the trailer seemed really promising.
Like another one of those alien invasion movies right?
Well don't be fooled. I mean, the movie was still pretty good but it goes a little deeper than just another alien action movie.
the movie actually touches upon a few social issues although they might be really subtle.

But if all you want is action, then maybe just skip past the first hour or so and it's pretty bang 'em up from there.
the graphics were seamlessly superb and the ideas used (especially for the weapons) were really creative.
Not too bad actually. Might catch you by surprise.

PS they look more like cockroaches than prawns.

Final Verdict:
