Law Abiding Citizen

Watched With: Mr Baps Saigon & Mr Tank @ Cathay Cineleisure (22/01)
Snacks: Satay Broadbeans & Grape Soda
Genre: Drama / Suspense Thriller

"Can't fight fate."

2 criminals rob Clyde Shelton's (Gerard Butler) home and brutally murder his wife and daughter. Justice must be served.
But at the trial, one of the criminals, Clarence Darby (Christian Stolte) strikes a deal with hotshot lawyer Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx) so that he can go free in exchange for his testimony against the other robber Rupert Ames (Josh Stewart). But this means that Darby goes free while Ames get a lethal injection.

Obviously Shelton is unhappy and wants both men put away for what they did but Rice tells him that the "deal has already been made".

10 years pass and all seems to be fine. But when Rupert Ames's execution is sabotaged and Clarence Darby turns up mutilated, all fingers point to Clyde Shelton.
And he does not dispute the charges.

In fact the coming days prove to be a test for everyone as Shelton promises to kill everyone unless his demands are met and justice is served but no one believes him.
It is only when people are still dying while Shelton is being locked up and they find out he used to be a top secret agent for the government that they realize they are dealing with a dangerous man.

Well Mr Jab called me immediately after he came out from the theatre and told me I simply had to watch it because it was one of the better movies recently.
So I went to watch it that very same night.

Well okay maybe it's one of the better movies released recently because it does well to build the suspense and makes you scratch your head trying to solve the big puzzle so it wasn't that bad.
But 2 things put me off. There ARE a few loopholes and convenient twists in this movie.
But the biggest put off was the casting of Regina Hall as Jamie Foxx's characters wife. See that chick from Scary Movie made me think Anna Farris was going to pop up on-screen too.

Final Verdict:
