Buried
Talk about a one-man show.
Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds) is a truck driver contracted by his company to deliver good in Iraq.
One day while delivering supplies to a school, Paul and his convoy are ambushed.
When Paul wakes up, he is in a coffin. Buried.
He has a cellphone, a Zippo and about 3 hours to get $5 million to pay his ransom or he will die beneath the ground.
It is a race against time to get in contact with his family, the kidnappers and also the FBI who are trying their best to rescue Paul.
Time and air and luck are running out.
You guys remember Phone Booth where Colin Ferrell was the main character and most of the movie was only about him in that phone booth?
Well this take it one-up.
The whole movie is literally Ryan Reynolds in that box.
The only other people in the movie are the voices on the phone.
In a way, it was really good acting by Reynolds and you really start thinking about how you'd react in a similar situation.
And the suspense really builds up towards the end of the movie.
Too bad it's just one guy which means the prospect of any development is nil.
